Is it a problem if I don't have the same scale as David?
It is completely possible to follow David's course even if you don't have the same scale as him.
A solution had to be found because there are thousands of different scales. To accommodate this, we would have needed thousands of instruments (that part sounds great ๐) and to record all the tutorials with each of them (that part, not so much ๐)... This is why David created a course that adapts to all handpans, no matter the scale.
Of course, there may be some dissonance when you play along with David, but the goal of the course is to teach you rhythms and movements so that you can later play them on your own. The "dissonance" only lasts during the initial learning phase. Very quickly, youโll seeโyouโll turn off the sound and practice without David!
Moreover, the purpose of the courses isnโt to reproduce the same notes (the same melody), but rather to apply the movements and exercises to your own instrument. This approach is actually great for fostering creativity!
